Zim Team Round 4 In Batumi ….

Zim Ladies yesterday the 27th of September 2018 faced the mighty Lady Pharaohs of Egypt. They tried and the result wasn’t favourable to us. The Pharaohs led by WGM Mona Khaled were too strong.. The Ladies will fight and conquer another day..! The Zimbabwe Ladies were dismissed 4-0 by the Egyptians who had 3 WGMs and 1 WIM. In the pic below the Ladies are busy and involved in their Round 3 match they won the previous day before the Egyptians battle.

What a fight by IM Rodwell Makoto in the Open section who saved the day by beating the Albanian +2500 GM Dervishi in a long and brutal game..🔥🔥
Emarald Mushore had won earlier facing a 2391 rated IM Mehmeti on board 2…a splendid show by the current Zim Champ!
Spencer Masango and Elisha Thabo who came in to let Zhemba rest had a bad day in the office.
Zim Men 2-2 Albania..! A better result considering all Albanians were over and above the Zimbabwe players rating wise.

IM Makoto vs GM Dervishi
It was a good 60 move battle and the SA based Zim IM on the White side converted well deep in the s endgame (R + B vs R and pawns). Earlier he saw a good tactical move that earned him a Bishop, also the GM on the Black side had more pawns that were vulnerable as they were weak. Makoto used his experience to collect the much needed point for himself as well as for team Zim!

And the Mushore 21 move game ….

This is how the top two Albanian boards were destroyed by the killer instincts of IM Makoto and Mushore..!
Today Friday the 28th of September in round 5, Zim Ladies face Chile on board 48 and the Zim Men team battle Morocco on board 41. So far Zim Ladies have won 2 over 4, and the Zim Men have 1 win and 2 draws out of 4 round. All the best team Zim..!!
