World Schools Chess Championship 2017 has passed its halfway stage

World Schools Chess Championship has passed its half. Played in the impressive Palace of Culture, the competition is allready having some categoric leaders with the maximum of points:

G7: Marat Bat-Ulzii – Mongolia
G9: Budagova Leila – Azerbaijan
G11: Munkhzul Davaakhuu – Mongolia
G15: Serikbay Assel – Kazakhstan
O7: Chyngyz Sultay – Kyrgyzstan
O9: Azjargal Erdenebat – Mongolia
Orujov Farid – Azerbaijan
O11: Ozkan Taha – Turkey
O15: Yakubboev Nodirbak – Uzbekistan
On the morning of 26th of April it was scheduled also a Blitz tournament, with 255 participants splited in 4 categories: Open under 7, Open under 13, Girls under 13 and Open under 17.

As Mr. Sorin Avram Iacoban, the president of Romanian Chess Federation said, the 2017 WSCC is the longest chess competition ever: it began in the winter and will end in the summer. After a heavy snowfall on 21st of April, we reached already 25 ̊ Celsius, a perfect weather for chess and sightseeing.
