The African Schools Chess Championships 2016 kicked off this past weekend on Sunday in Lusaka Zambia. After 4 rounds our Golden Young Girls: Hazel Refiloe Mudodo U11, Rumbidzai Mawire U11 and Panashe Zimbili U13 played very well so far on top boards. Refiloe leading the U11 Girls pack with an incredible 4/4! Rumbidzai 2nd in the same age group with 3/4. Panashe also doing well on top boards in the U13 Girls with 3/4.
All the best Zim Young Golden Girls..! Other younger boys and girls are also doing well the likes of Tinaye Madamombe U9 and others…keep fighting and all the best! Many boys and girls in the Zim team (esp. High School players) could not make it to this event because of some authorities who could not clear the players because of their own meaningless and illogical reasons. Let the youngsters play chess…!
