Thank you all for coming. Put a heart into the game, *look in the long-term*, work hard and results will come. Leon Matereke the Prestige section winner for this month has vastly improved. A couple of years back he was just an average player at the Knights mini events , thanks to his hard work and long term approach (And some Knights Academy private lessons at his home). Leon a Marist Brothers student is one of the finest U14 players in the country. He represented the Manicaland Province in the recently held NASH National Individual Championships (U14 Section) at Victoria High, Masvingo.
The winner of the Jnr Open & Development section, Tapiwanashe Muyambo (10) is also coming up strongly. At the Zim Easter Open Jnr U14 section he came a surprising 4th overall out of 18 tough youngsters with 4.5/7. Another fine young player Tawananyasha Kunaka (12) (A Knights Academy private student in his early career years) was brave enough to play in the Prestige section. He has represented the Zim Youth team in various African Championship events. Support from the parents is also playing a big role in the youngsters development. At Knights Academy we shall continue with our monthly tournament events (in tough and good times!) as this provides an important platform for these youngsters to practice and develop their chess skills.
