Thank you all for coming. Great mini practice tournament in the ninth month of the year. Hard work and consistency in any good area is a virtue nomatter how tough the times are. The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. There is need for a good work ethic in chess as well as other important areas in life for one to be fruitful. And most importantly, HELPING EACH OTHER, as Academy members in solving various chess problems/positions will lead to a quick development of chess skills. It is an important life value – helping each other; your rewards in life are decided by the kinds of problems you are willing to solve for others. Many strategic and tactical positions have to be solved after games to help others improve. During the practice event we saw youngsters in the jnr section helping a friend Alvin who is a beginner and new to chess, he consequently had that sense of belongingness to the club. The biblical Joseph solved a problem for others and was rewarded!
Youngsters were from; Shiriyedenga Pri, Mberi Pri, St Martins Pri, Zuvarabuda Pri, Kundai Pri, North Park Pri, Houghton Park Pri, as well as Glen Norah 1 High and Harare High Schools.
