Golden Boy!!…At only 6 years Knights Chess Academy student Tawananyasha Mawire a grade 1 pupil at Avondale Primary bamboozled or ghosted past his U9 Jnr category opponents to lift The Alfred Beit Primary Winter Chess Festival Jnr Section Trophy in style at 5/5. He was clear 1st in a field of 50 young chess masters! The thrilling tournament was held at the Mabelreign Harare based Primary School on Saturday the 4th of July 2015. The Senior Section had 115 players as Knights Chess Academy Legend and current Harare Primary Schools Champ Collins Mabodongwa (12) a pupil at Kundayi Primary in Glen Norah gave one or two strategic and tactical lessons to his opponents and sat easily at 5/5 together with Kwekwe based Willenita School of Chess student Clever Gambe.
Thanks to the Chess Academy Revolution in Zimbabwe.. results say it best! Meanwhile Mabvuku High invites your chess teams to participate in a Chess tourny on 11 July 2015. Registration is $25 per team of 4 players. See you there!
