Haig Park 2018 Winter Chess Festival…WCM Rumbidzai Mawire dominates.

The Haig Park 2018 Winter Chess Festival MASTERS SECTION had battle hungry youngsters who played four rounds. The Primary Schools Individual event was held on Saturday the 21st of July in Mabelreign Harare at Haig Park Primary School. Congrats to Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Rumbidzai Mawire (Left in pic) of Avondale Primary Harare for winning the event with 3.5/4. Well done also to the Silver Medalist Tawana Kunaka (3/4) of Hartmann House Primary as well as Candidate Master (CM) Tadiwa Madaka (3/4) of Alfred Beit Primary who settled for Bronze.

Other sections played 5 Rounds and these were: U8 Boys and Girls, U10 Boys and Girls, U12 Boys and Girls, U14 Boys and Girls. Top three winners in each section walked away with Medals and Certificates. The School that got the most Gold and Silver Medals won a Floating Trophy..it was the hosting school Haig Park Primary…

HAIG PARK WINTER CHESS FESTIVAL

Date held: Sat 21 July 2018

Venue: Haig Park School (Mabelreign Harare)

Time: 08:00 to 15:30 Hrs

Entry Fees was: $7 per player

Age group: From U8 – U14 and Masters Section

Prizes given: Floating trophy for the winning school, School bags for section winners, Medals and certificates.

Organizers were: Chipesa. R (0774 685 975) and Kanogwere. M (0772 322 506).
