A well deserved thanks to the two engaging, warm hearted players who were involved in the beguiling cage match as well as considerate, compassionate organisations; Kids Moving Forward (a wonderful organization developing and inspiring kids); and Mhondoro Chess (founder Mr Fortune Gandawa)…This past weekend the adorable, heavenly young kids at Shammah Children’s Home the tranquil, serene venue were graciously, greatly inspired in Waterfalls Harare! Check the amazing aesthetic pics..
Well done to both top lady altruistic, big-hearted players Kudzanai Charinda and Dalitso Linda Shaba for taking part in an indulgent cage match (2 Classical, 2 Rapid, 4 Blitz games) on Saturday and Sunday (1st and 2nd of May 2021). Chess won at the end of the day! As this helped inspire the little angels at Shammah and also thrilled the Zim chess community.
Thanks to the two accommodating organizers, four open-handed, unsparing individual sponsors and IA Simbarashe Murimi the arbiter of the wonderful event. 🤝
Mr Gandawa had this to say;
“The event was well decorated. We had an International Arbiter officiating, good food was served and that also included the kids who stay at the home. Our players were even given t/ shirts and they received the hard cash in US$ shared at 60%:40% ratio…The winner Linda also received a trophy. This was made possible by various people and organisations….
This event is also a seed that has been planted in the hearts of our dear kids and an opportunity to develop chess at the home….
More funds will be coming in to nurture the seed and thanks to Coach Ben for his pledge to work with the kids from now onwards.
CHESS MIRRORS LIFE “
The words from the founder of Mhondoro Chess after the event.
