From zero to hero indeed!!!…Zhemba Jemusse our all time best Knights Chess Academy Legend did the unbelievable in Seychelles…brings home a medal!! We still have to confirm whether he gets a title.
In the pic Zhemba is practicing with the Knights Chess Academy family in Harare Zimbabwe. Now he can show the young Zimbabwean juniors how it is done at the top Championship level! An inspiration indeed!
A million thanks goes to Chitungwiza based Mr Madamombe who believed in this young man and funded his trip to Seychelles. Hats off to your very rare passion Mr Madamombe. For the period 2011-2014 that Zhemba played for the Knights Academy team he had never took part in any youth/junior championship event i.e Africa nor World Championship event because of funding problems. Today in 2016 the young man Zhemba has incredibly proved to the world that he is one the best U20 African juniors! He went there seeded last (24th) i.e an underdog, and after the tournament they all respected him as he came 3rd with a stunning 6pts out of 9 rounds well above the dangerous Madagascan chess wizard FM Rakotomaharo Fy Antenaina (2443) who came 4th with 5.5pts. Angolan junior solid "thinktank" IM Silva David (2164) defended his Africa Junior Championship successfully as he sat comfortably on the 1st place with 8pts. He drew with Zimbabwean Zhemba Jemusse in the last round. A dangerous Egyptian viper IM Fawzy Adham (2484) came 2nd at 6.5/9.
