It was on Saturday the 10th of March….
We would like to thank all those who attended and managed to take part in our Knights Monthly Mini Tournament on Sat the 10th of March at our traditional Knights ghetto base Cabal Christian College in Highfield Harare…Fireworks were the order of the day as players especially in the ‘top cream’ Prestige A (10 players) and Prestige B (also 10 players) fought in a courageous way to outfox their competitors. Our March edition saw top Zim Nationals 2017 Player Roy Mwadzura, as well as other ‘die hards’ like Shingai Magazine, Kuda Zimbowa. Shingai used to win these Knights mini monthly events in 2015. Kuda did very well in the Rainbow Towers, Harare held African Schools Championships last year by coming 2nd in his age group. Alois the 20 points 2017 A Level Sciences Academic star was also in the mix and he didn’t dissappoint on the 64 square board. In the Prestige B section Hazel Masango fought hard to dismiss tough competition coming from the ‘gladiators’.
Other Sections were Open A (10 players) as well as Open B (6 players). The latter being more of developmental sections. We saw 11 ‘new kids on the block’ in these Open A and B sections-The Dzikwa Trust players from the ghetto area of Dzivarasekwa (DZ). They interacted very well with the other local youngsters. Thank you for coming, we are one family! Let’s help develop our ghetto youngsters in a way that is right…
