Knights Chess Academy Zimbabwe all time legend Zhemba Jemusse posted on his facebook page: I’m happy to take part in the Africa Chess Individual (2017 Zone 4.3 Individual Chess Championships in Zambia) ‘thanks to Mr Madamombe and Mr Murimi for supporting me through payments and travelling issues’ hope I will do my best.
Well for those who haven’t heard of one of Zimbabwe’s greatest chess hearts, Mr Madamombe through his Zimbabwe Chess Foundation (ZCFound) is doing a very wonderful noble job. He has moved great strides in the process of developing chess especially at grassroots helping the chess community at large (especially those who are determined but lacking in resources) and he is a very down to earth, humble and understanding selfless personality…here is his recent social platform post:
Zim Chess Foundation is very active, more inclined on development. A video was posted recently on this group (Zim Chess). We have worked with lots of academies and schools. We have so far donated sets to Knights Academy (5), Marondera High (5) Mupfurudzi Primary (5), HCA Prizes(5 sets and a clock),Women inmates, Chitungwiza chess club, and a lot more. Our latest project is with Chakwizira in the formation of Dzivarasekwa’s Rooks Academy and they should be taking delivery of sets soon. We also identify individual talent, help nurture them. Zhemba is one such talent and he has been to many tournaments including Africa Jnr Championship through ZCFound, he will be going to zonal through the same initiative,…….. Panashe Zimbili and many other jnrs have benefited from ZCFound, so we are very much around mostly in jnr chess.
Well done Mr Madamombe! Such great work cannot go unnoticed!
