2019 Botswana Debswana International Open Chess Championship Winners…

The Champions for the 2019 Botswana Debswana International Development Open Chess Championship are; IM Providence Oatlhotse, WIM Kgalalelo Botlhole and Thokojane Bagomotsi in the Open Section. It has come to an end. The Nation of Botswana is celebrating the victory of IM Providence Oatlhotse and WIM Kgalalelo Botlhole who have successfully kept the championship trophies in Botswana. Congratulations….
In the 9th and last round played on Tuesday the 1st of October 2019, IM Providence (the eventual winner with 7.5/9) collected a full point vs Malawi’s FM Joseph Mwale (6/9). On board 2 Zambian IM Gillan Bwalya the top seed (finished on 6.5/9) on the Black side prevailed in his match vs Zimbabwean Spencer Masango (6.5/9) who needed an important point to be joint 1st but lady luck was not on Spencer’s side. FM Douglas Munenga the 2nd seed from Zambia settled on 7/9 after dismissing the charges of Keletshabile on the 3rd board.
